Shari Janssen - Creations Looming
I have been weaving for over 13 years. I began with a used handmade loom I found on Craigslist that came with a box of yarn and books on how to weave, I jumped in with both feet. Since then I have purchased and sold many looms to find the perfect 6 looms I currently have. I love to make rugs, to see how different fabrics react to different threads, and different patterns. In the last two years I branched out to creating towels. Most recently I have gotten really brave and have cut my creations to make into pillows and bags. This makes my business name appropriate, always Creations Looming. I have entered my items in the Iowa State Fair. Still hoping to create the item that earns a blue ribbon! I am also a member of the Des Moines Weavers and Spinners Guild and the Handweavers Guild of America.
